My first week in Germany looks just like the website's mascot in the picture above. I don't understand a thing, but it's so fucking interesting

It’s funny that just as I was settling in here and wrapping up all the necessary arrangements on the host side, I already have to pack my bags and head back to Paris, because I need to finish up some administrative and other tasks this month

So far, the biggest problem I've run into is: why the heck is everything here so sweet? I get the feeling that they've just thrown a couple of spoonfuls of sugar into every dish along the way, even if the recipe doesn't call for it at all. And here’s another funny thing about the stores: there’s a suspiciously large amount of food with Russian labels - like pelmeni, kefir, and the beloved “doctor’s” sausage

But on the other hand, you can cruise down the highway at 180 km/h and watch as a BMW - or some other local car - following close behind at 250+ km/h flashes its high beams at you, trying to get you to move over into the slow lane so you don’t block the fast lane

A little math: I’ll be covering 1,645 km this week. At the start of the week, it was Paris - Bern - Degmarn; today it’s Heilbronn - Stuttgart - Paris - Antony; and tomorrow I’ll be heading from Paris to Stuttgart and back to Degmarn. All of this from Sunday through Friday, and it’s great that only part of it is by car - otherwise, fuel prices are anything but encouraging

From now on, I’ll add up the kilometer's in every post like this; let’s see how many there will be by the end of our adventure in Germany
