The agency sent a letter demanding an additional payment of €800 on top of the €3,000 security deposit, mentioning in passing that they had recalculated some other items. Curtains, some minor repairs, and so on. And bills for trash removal and other bills spanning 3 (!) years. And all of this without any receipts, invoices, or any proof of their expenses whatsoever. To which we responded with a long, thoughtful letter telling them to go fuck themselves. Thoughtful indeed - about six pages of carefully crafted text explaining in detail where and how we were wrong
And do you know what happened after we sent our point-by-point response? (By the way, I can let loose here, but over there I’m polite yet firm.) They just quietly closed the case
Well, what can I say? This week I’m finishing up the application for an out-of-court dispute resolution, and after that, let the commission deal with them
And at some point, it started to occur to me that maybe even the apartment owner isn't fully aware of the trouble brewing, but on the other hand, by law, the agency is the official representative, so any internal communication issues are really their problem
