There are two pieces of great news to wrap up this week. First, I received my extended residence permit in France, valid until 2030. That’s great news - if you plan to live that long

Of course, it wasn’t without its share of adventures, but first of all, it’s not the prefecture’s fault - they did everything they could on their end to get it done quickly. And second, for fuck’s sake, is it really that hard to read the docs and get your shit together ahead of time?

The second piece of news, which I also consider moderately good, is that it looks like I’ll be able to settle down in Germany until May and avoid any unnecessary hassle, aside from work

So my plans for this weekend are nothing more than catching up on sleep, finally unpacking all my stuff, and stopping living out of suitcases and boxes. And I’ll probably take those long-promised photos of the surroundings with a decent camera - and believe me, there’s plenty to show, from the surrounding landscapes to some very interesting birds I haven’t photographed yet. So, I’m adding an item to my to-do list: finally pick up the camera and start snapping away
